Aron Eisenberg was an American actor who was best known for his role as Nog on the TV show Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He also worked as a professional photographer.
Eisenberg was born on 6th January 1969 and was adopted into a Jewish family. At birth, he had a single kidney that was only partially functional, resulting in restricted height and necessitating a kidney transplant at the young age of 14.
Eisenberg’s studied theater at Moorpark College in California.
Aron Eisenberg started his acting career in the 1980s with roles in horror movies like The Horror Show and Puppet Master III. He also appeared in several TV shows such as Tales from the Crypt, The Wonder Years, and General Hospital.
Eisenberg’s most notable role was Nog, a young Ferengi who joined Starlet and became friends with Jake Sisko, the son of Captain Benjamin Sisko on DS9. He portrayed the character of Nog for seven seasons from 1993 to 1999 and quickly became a fan favorite. He also made a guest appearance on Star Trek: Voyager and a fan film Renegades.
In addition to appearing in films, Eisenberg also appeared on stage productions like The Indian Wants the Bronx, On Borrowed Time and Minor Demons. He also had the opportunity to direct the 1997 production of On Borrowed Time and the 1998 production of The Business of Murder at the Conejo Players Theater. As part of his hobby, Eisenberg also worked as a professional photographer. His love for photography led him to open his gallery.
Eisenberg was once married to Jessica Eisenberg whom he had two sons with. He later eloped with Malissa Longo, who he married in 2018 after dating for five years.
In 2015, Eisenberg was diagnosed with kidney failure but he received a successful kidney transplant but eventually passed away on 21st September 2019 at the age of 50.
